(Magda is the widow of Gigi Garakanidze, son of Edisher Garakanidze with whom CPR began its relationship with Georgian song and inspiration of the collection ’99 Georgian Songs’, published initially in 2004. It is a particular pleasure to have Magda with us on her first visit to Giving Voice as we publish a second revised and expanded edition, to be launched and celebrated on Friday 17th April)
Magda will be teaching a selection of traditional songs with accompanying round dances. As well as introducing new songs from 99 Georgian Songs: Revised and Expanded Edition.
From the beginner to the long term enthusiast, this workshop is for anyone wishing to experience singing the wonderful folk harmonies of Georgia.
