The Tides are a vibrant vocal trio, performing rhythmic, melodic close harmony songs. Mixing indie, pop, folk and their own original material, The Tides are Misri Dey, Claire Ingleheart and Angeline Morrison.
Misri Dey is a solo theatre maker, performer, singer and lecturer, working out of Falmouth University and the Solo Contemporary Performance Forum, in Bristol and Falmouth. She is currently making a new solo stand-up show: ‘Dr. Vibrato’, which probably explores mixed ethnicity, identity, adoption and vocal break-ups www.soloperformanceforum.co.uk.
She has sung with a number of groups, including Orkestra Jazira, Salif Keita and Pigbag and is currently composing a new set of songs for both her solo work and with the Tides.
Claire Ingleheart is a multi instrumentalist, composer and Music Specialist who has toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe. As a musical “magpie” she has gathered various instruments and styles along the way including jazz, folk, African, Latin, classical, Indian and funk. An experienced musical director and performer she has worked with Horse and Bamboo Theatre, Dodgy Clutch Theatre, Wild Works, Travelling Light, Manushi Dance, The Eden Project, Hall for Cornwall and Nottingham Television Workshop. As well as writing and performing with these companies and with her band ‘The Tides’, she has written for short film, educational resource packs and for many community projects.
Angeline Morrison is a vocalist, composer, arranger and producer. Her compositions have appeared in film and TV (including Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Magic Mike’), and been performed by the likes of Cornwall’s 50 Degrees Choir. Angeline is signed to Freestyle Records in the UK, and to Ubiquity Records in the USA. Her most beloved genres are soul, jazz and traditional English folk music. She also loves running children’s music groups.
